Did a neat look with my nails today.
Base coat is N.Y.C. in #208B Little Italy
I did two coats of the base coat, letting it dry between the first and second coats. I let the second coat dry before putting a strip of masking tap across the bottom half of my nails diagonally.
I then applied one coat of Finger Paints #806244 Black Expressionism on the top half of my nails and let it set for a minute before removing the tape and then letting the polish dry completely.
I then used the pointy end of a wooden cuticle stick (you can get these in a five pack from Walmart for like $1.99) as a dotting tool, and made dots using the same black polish across the nail under the black line.
Finally, I used a dot of Finger Paints #80614 Expressionist Red on each thumb nail, and finished with a top coat of Sally Hanson Diamond Strength #01 Flawless.
Simple, easy, and adorable!
omg omg perfect, totes making this for my mom
Citrus Salt Body Scrub DIY
A wonderful exfoliant and full body moisturizer for use in the shower. Leave a jar near your outdoor shower at the beach to add a healthy glow to dull dry skin.
Servings: 2
Prep Time: 5 min
Difficulty: EasyIngredients Add to grocery list
1/2 cup sea salt
1/2 cup sweet almond oil
(can substitute light olive oil or vegetable oil)
1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
1/2 teaspoon orange zestDirections
In a medium dry bowl, combine all ingredients making sure to not let any water touch them as it will dissolve the salt. Pour mixture into an airtight container and store in a cool dry place.
To use: Just before showering, swirl ingredients together with your fingertips to mix. Clean body completely and just before exiting shower, apply Citrus Salt Body Scrub to body in a firm circular scrubbing motion with hands or a soft washcloth. Rinse off the mixture and pat body dry with a clean towel.
This is an interesting recipe.
I would suggest, however, instead of using sea salt, using sugar. Salt will naturally absorb moisture, so using it as a major ingredient in a scrub to moisturize dry skin seems a bit contradictory.
Sugar won’t suck out your skin’s moisture as fast, and is a finer grain than sea salt, so it will be gentler on your skin, plus it will add a really sweet smell to the citrus and almond oil, giving you a lightly sweet scent after getting out of the shower.
Hi, everyone! :D You know what I love? Homestuck, that’s what! Even before I read Homestuck my friends who were into it always told me, “Oh, you’re such a Jade!” I have to admit, when I was first introduced to her, I didn’t believe them. But the longer I read it the longer I began to see not only personality similarities but I saw physical similarities as well! Because of this, I decided that she’d be a great cosplay.
But y’know, I am a little jelly because Troll cosplayers get to have fun with makeup! >:C
So I have concocted a little makeup for my cosplay kid, Jade!
Let’s get started! :D
- Go ahead and get into your Jade swag! I got my shirt and I put my weave in.
- I suffer from acne, but it’s gotten a lot better since I’ve been on Accutane! But sometimes a blemish or two can show up. So before you put on your makeup, go ahead and use your concealer to fix any blemishes! You can also fix and dark circles you may have under your eyes.
- Stipple and blend on your favorite foundation! Be sure it’s consistent. If you can get makeup sponges, I highly recommend them for cosplay makeups! It’s a lot less of a hassle than using your fingers to blend your foundation in.
- With a powder puff or a brush, take a little bit of matte powder and stipple it on your face. Sometimes using a powder that is one shade lighter than your skin color can help bring out a brighter look. Since Jade is young, I would recommend getting a lighter powder! Don’t cake the powder on. (Tip: Bring the powder with you if you’re going to a con! If you need a touch of freshness, the powder with absorb any sweat and oil.)
- Mmyes, my face feels and looks so clean and fresh, muahahaha.

Figured I’d post this here since I post a lot of funky dye jobs. :)
Hello lovelies!
It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything here, so I figured I’d share this momentous (read: not actually momentous) occasion with you all.
I picked up a couple of shadows yesterday at work that had been reduced to 20 cents a piece! That’s right, I got 5 shadows for a dollar.
Although Jordana is a cheap drugstore brand (.058oz containers will run you about $1.99), their colors are surprisingly vivid, not to mention very smooth and easy to blend.
So, being a girl with a new toy, I had to play a little. I did one of my favorite looks with two of my new colors:

I used #05 - Creamy Vanilla for the base, and #23 - Alter Ego for the color. Now, normally with this look, I would use black or a dark brown for the outside color, but you can use any color you like to just add a little bit of pop. It’s a really simply look to achieve and it’s versatile enough that you can wear it to work, on a date, or just whenever. It’s designed for a mysterious, smokey-eyed look, so darker colors will naturally look better.
To get this look:
And that’s it!
If you have any questions about this look, send it to my ask box or fanmail, and I’ll try to answer as coherently as possible. ♥
Translation from page: cut squares of newsprint larger than nails. apply a base coat of polish. when nails are completely dry, soak them in alcohol, then press newsprint on nail and slowly pull off. top coat to seal.
I’d do this.
REBLOGGING FOR LATER
